carb or throttle body cleaner will help break up the shellac and gum residue in the fuel system, WD40 is a lube i would not be using it, it will not clean as a specific product will.

Here is the correct way to service a throttle body

Hello, today I want to clean my Corolla the IAC because the RPM drops down to 600 RPM and the car vibrates. It's recommended to clean the IAC with Throttle Body Cleaner? Thank you. The car also vibrates from 2200 to 2800 RPM after 2800 RPM the vibrations disappear and the car runs smooth. What could this be? Thank's.

You can use the throttle body cleaner and also clean the throttle plate as well, do this and see if the vibration and idle quality stabilizes first.

Hi,

I cleaned the throttle body of my toyota 4afe engine last Sunday and I've removed a lot of dirt in and out. I was't able to open the AIS because the screws are so tight so I just sprayed the cleaner until the cleaner becomes clear of dirt. The problem is, after I re-installed it my idle became 2000 rpm. How can I properly adjust it back to normal rpm.

Thanks and regards,

Hi,

Thanks for the advise. It's ok now, just set some timing and adjust the 8mm, knot under the acceleration cable. It might be tuned in higher acceleration due to the carbon deposits on the throttle body. I only bought my 2nd hand car last September and i think it's throttle body is never been cleaned ever-since.

Cheers!
