Taking the steps to add a smart key for the car. One step is to take the new (un-programmed) key and hold the key next to the START button and wait for a beep, then place the key on the passengers seat and wait for another beep as confirmation of successful programming of the new smart key.
The new key refuses to give the confirmation beep on the passenger seat. We've already moved the primary key outside of the car to avoid radio interference and it still does not give us the confirmation beep.
It was suggested that the passenger seat was faulty and to replace the seat !! Sure, I could replace the $1,000+ dollar seat in the pursuit of obtaining a spare key but ... really? There must be a work-around.
Do you have any work-arounds or thoughts on how to complete this task?
