engine belt is making a squeaky sound

there is a squeaky sound coming from inside the bonnet

disconnect the belt and start engine to see if any noise is eliminated if it is it can be alternator or whatever is hooked to the belt. Test all the idler pulleys for a worn bearing, they should spin freely.
