i have a 2007 nissan murano and the transfer case needs to be replaced. What's the possibility the problem won't occur again or have other problems in that area the transfer case got shot and need replaced

It's always a possibility. I would ask the mechanic why it went bad. I would also have them inspect the whole drivetrain to see if there is anything else going on that is causing problems.
Be sure they replace it with a good one.
