2007 Mercury Milan difficult to fill with fuel

our 2007 Milan fuel tank accepts fuel very slowly- has never been a real easy vehicle to fill, but has gotten worse. Car has never been in an accident involving the rear of the vehicle, nor has it been "bottomed out" to my knowledge.

There must be a venting issue. Air needs to escape as fuel enters. If it doesn't, the fuel will back up and stop the pump.

Makes sense, and since the tank vent line ends up above the left rear wheel well, plenty of opportunity for dirt. We do live on a country road, lots of dust.........thanks. I need to go looking for that vent.
