2007 Mazda 3 Engine Noise on Cold Startup

Engine makes a loud throttling noise when cold started, most noticeable in the morning and after work having been left for 5 hours or more.

Is this a result of the type of oil being used? Or is this something much more serious I should pay more attention to?

I live in NZ where the average temperature during Summer is around 20 Degrees C and Winter is between 10 and 15 Degrees C.

have a local pro check this as it's kind of non descriptive enough and we can't hear it
