Have you actually opened the hood and looked? Hoses and wires can droop down onto hot exhaust parts. Suspension parts can break and cause tires to rub. Brake calipers can stick and overheat the pads. Engine mounts can collapse and cause the pulleys to rub. AC compressor can lock up and cause the serpentine belt to slip and overheat. Radiator fan can short and smoke. Overheated wires can smoke.
