Why is the automatic shifting sticky?

I have a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon GT/AT. On cold starts, shifting from Reverse to Drive, it stays stuck on Neutral. The display shows blank or Neutral. Why is the automatic shifting sticky?

check to make sure fluid is full. if it looks brown then get it changed that may be the cause. Otherwise have a trans guy look at it.
