Check the relay in underhood relay block. Terminal # 2i spower supply from battery and should be hot at all times. Terminal # 1 is to the defogger. Use a fused jumper and bridge both terminals to test if the defoggger works.

Poor radio reception could be due to the antenna, its conneection or the radio itself.

rear defroster does not work. The push button indicator comes on suggesting that the heater should be working but it's not. I have an extended warranty with $100.00 deductible, should I take it in and have them repar this or is it just a loose connection some where.

I removed the plastic cover that is located at the top of the rear window and the single connector looks good--no corrosion. [could that be the antenea??] What else can I do? I would hate to pay a $100 just for a loose wire that I could fix. Thanks for your help :))

Ther is a defogger relay behind the right side of the dash/behind the right fuse box cover. Try swapping this one for the a/c relay to see if it fixes it. Relays are under $100

Hello,

It could be the thin film element in the glass. lets check for power and ground at the glass. here is a guide to help us and the defrost wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find.

Hi MEADWELL JENNIFER,

You need to check
1. Fuse # 53 (40 A) underhood.
2. Rear defroster relay.
3. Rear defroster circuit.

I have a 1997 Honda Accord, 4 cyl., automatic, 56,700 miles. The rear window defroster is not working. The front defrost, heater and blower are working OK. (I have noticed some bits of brownish foam coming from the front vents, however.) Is this a major repair or something I could possibly fix myself?

Brownish foam? You better check the radiator! What color is your antifreeze? If it's that brown foam, check the engine oil too! Get back with the results, this could be bad...

Sounds like the insulating foam that seals the vents to the plenum at the seams. No real big deal, just annoying. You can fix it with any thin foam
