F350 thermostat calibration

I have a 2007 F350 with auto temp control. The exterior temp gauge reads much warmer than actual and will read warmer as the engine compartment warms. It also seems to effect the interior temperature output.

The ambient air temperature sensor is suppposed to be attached to left side of the grille opening panel to the left of the A/C condenser core.

Ensure it is positioned correctly and not being affected by air from the A/C condenser or engine which would change the reading. Any reading from this sensor affects the climate control system output.

I am not seeing anything that looks like a sensor on the left side of the grille opening. What does it look like? Would it be anywhere else?

That should be the location of the sensor and if it is not ther, it could have been dislodged causing the problem.

It is a sensor with 2 wires and a clip to hold the sensor into position.

I am not able to find any suitable diagrams to show you.

I found it after removing the grill on the right side attached. Is there a way to test it or do I just need to replace it?

C1 CHECK THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE

• Key in OFF position.
• Disconnect: Ambient Temperature Sensor C132

• Measure the resistance between the ambient temperature sensor terminals.

• Is the resistance within the specified values for these temperature ranges: 10-20°C (50-68°F), 37,000-58,000 ohms; 20-30°C (68-86°F), 24,000-37,000 ohms; 30-40°C (86-104°F), 16,000-24,000 ohms?

What does the resistance need to be for 10-30 degrees F?

I live in the tropics so the weather is always warm but beginning and ending of the year we have a lot of rainy days.
