the car has several things going on at one time: 1. at random times, the dash and console lights will shut off for a few seconds then come back on. 2. the car starts to feel like it is "shuttering" upon acceleration and at sustained speed. 3. the "check brake system" message comes across the message center. 4. the "check charging system" comes across the message center. We have taken it to a local mechanic twice in a row and both times, he replaced the alternator and this did not resolve the problem, either time. I have disconnected the battery for 10 minutes or so, to try to get the computer to reset itself and this has not helped either.
