My husband fixed the A/C on our truck. Now the airbag light is staying on. He tried to reset by disconnecting battery, but that didn't work. We were told to take it to the dealer, but we are trying to save money, hence husband fixing A/C. Can you help?

you need a new clockspring. it is located inside of the steering column. it is the junction for the horn, cruise and air bag. prevents wires from breaking when turning steering wheel.

Some of that may be related but most of it isn't. Start out by having the ABS codes read and see where they point. I'm suspecting some speed sensor issues somewhere.

Bit of a loss here just now, Mitchell 1 does not have those codes or descriptions that you list, nor can I see anything that resembles your problem, can you try another scanner and see if you get different reading and try erasing the codes first and re scan then.

I`ve tried to erase the code and the scanner says "erase successful " however the light stays on and the same codes are still in the scanner, I will have it scanned again to see if the codes are different.

I am beginning to think I have a corroded connector in the system somewhere, or the controller is defective, but that should show a different code.

The code they found was "P1200" ? still don`t know what that means, however I received a recall letter from Fiat Chrysler stating the right side air bag inflator housing may rupture due to excessive during normal airbag deployment events, The problem should go away when they make the repairs. I`ll let you know what happens, They couldn`t say why the small scanner issued a "07" code, however it did say it was the rear right sensor circuit fail.

P1200 is not an airbag code

Definition.
Dodge Ram 2500 Van car P1200 OBD-II Trouble Code Injector Control Circuit is one of the definitions for the P1200

So go get the recall done and that may sort out the mystery code and ask about the P1200 while you are talking with them.

I installed a new radio in my 03 Dodge Ram 1500. I turned the key on while the pass airbag switch was unpluged, now the airbag light is staying on, I had no problems before this. How do I clear the code? Or do I have to take the truck to a dealer and have it done?

lets cheat a little, disconnect the positve side of the battery. let the car sit for about a hour. re connect the battery. the air bag light should reset itself unless there is something else wrong { i doubt}
you have to remember that the computer will not completly reset until the vehicle had been driven about 50 miles. the reason that the computer does not reset itself right away is so it can do a diagnostic check on the vehicle. if the light comes back on then it would have to be scanned . let me know

Well, I guess there is something wrong, maybe the switch or bulb is bad on the passenger side? I did notice that the off light is not coming on now. That was the only thing I disconnected. I will get it scanned. Thanks for the reply.

I replaced the heater core in my 2001 Dodge Ram 4X4 5.2L V8. I removed/reassembled the entire instrument panel and all connectors. Now, there is no activity when I turn on the heater/ac selector; I have no dome or instrument light, and the air bag light is still on. Where did I go wrong, and what do I do to fix?

Have you checked the fuses? There's an interior lamp fuse inside and that could be one of the two fuses for the air bag computer. There's a second fuse box under the hood.

Have the TIPM tested. Also, you may want to check for bad or broken body ground straps.

Let me know what you find.
