2007 Dodge Caliber Gasoline will not dispense

For the last 2 weeks, I have not been able to dispense more than a gallon at a time into my tank. The pump auto-stops as if the tank were full. It will dispense more after I wait a minute or so. I did fill it completely once, but it took about 30 minutes. I was thinking that the "flapper" on the inside of the tank had fallen off and was clogging the hose, but I verified that the Dodge Caliber does not have one.
What do you recommend?

For fuel to go in, air has to come out. There is a vent for that. Check to make sure it isn't damaged or plugged.

WHEN SNATCHING MY SISTER'S TAHOE TANK DOWN FOR A NEW FUEL PUMP

I NOTICED "SCREENS" ON/ IN BOTH HOSE CONNECTIONS

IN MY PIC BELOW, YOU CAN SEE THE SCREEN FOR THE VENT HOSE WELL

I TOOK MANY PICS FOR THE FUEL PUMP INSTALL, BUT I DIDN'T GET A SHOT OF THE SCREEN INSIDE THE CONNECTION WHERE THE BIG "FILL HOSE" CONNECTS

IT WAS RELATIVELY EZ TO DISCONNECT BOTH HOSES ON THE TAHOE

YOURS MIGHT BE A REAL PAIN IN THE BUTT (I HAVE NO CLUE)

THE REASON I'M HITTING YOU WITH THIS INFO

IS IF SOMEBODY CRAMMED A PAPER TOWEL/ TOY/ ETC INTO YOUR FILL HOLE, MAYBE IT'S NOW ALL SPRAWLED OUT OVER A SCREEN

TAKING THE HOSE LOOSE AT THE TANK MIGHT LET YOU REMOVE IT

STILL NOT KNOWING YOUR RIG AT ALL

I SNAGGED A FILL TUBE FROM A DODGE TRUCK AT AN AUTO SALVAGE YARD TO MODIFY MY 1946 WILLYS JEEP'S FUEL TANK ABOUT A YEAR AGO

THIS TUBE HAD A PLASTIC CHECK BALL IN IT BEFORE IT ENTERED THE TANK

THE BALL COULD GET "STUCK" IN THE UP POSITION IF CONDITIONS WERE JUST RIGHT, OR THERE AGAIN, TRASH COULD BUILD UP AROUND IT AND SLOW DOWN THE FLOW.
