Citroen c4 cooling fan stays on when engine is off

I have a Citroen C4 Cool HDI 1.6
Engine cooling fan staying on until battery goes flat, as soon as battery is recharged & engine is started it comes back on.

There is a fan timer control that works off of the temperature sensor and a control unit. The temperature sensor may be failing and reading hot all the time. If you have a temperature gauge there are seperate sensors for the gauge and the signal sent to the computer. You want to replace the one that send s the signal to the computer. They are located on or near the thermostat housing.
