i just bought a 2007 base pt cruiser. i have a month warranty on the trany and i am hearing a clunk as the car downshifts to stop sometimes. the mechanic said that it had a brain that is getting used to my driving style and that it should stop in a few weeks. Is this true? What else could be the problem.

nope. tell him to put it in writing and extend the warranty.

there is a issue with the valve body. have them repair it correctly for you before it expires
