My car started to blow cold air when the heat is on. I replaced the t/stat and lower radiator hose cause it was weak. With the coolant drained, I refilled with the use of my airlift tool. Twice.. And still only get some heat when I rev. The engine. And the lower heater hose won't get hot. Any suggestions?

ay have air lock in it or low on coolant make sure it's full first. can't see where bleeds are at moment due to our manual is down. check heater hoses for hot if both are pull hvac fuse inside car with key on to see if actuator will reset that may be problem as well. also try a new radiator cap

When I turn on the air or heater it just blows normal air. Even if I try to adjust the heat or cold it stays the same. I appreciate any help.

see if lines outside under the hood are getting cold the large one should if not the air conditioner may be low on Freon or another problem which a professional should check. if it is cold then check the actuator inside the car, try pulling hvac fuse inside car for 60 seconds with key on then reinstall.

Hey ANC33,

This would be the blend door actuator not working correctly, did you try resetting the fuse?

I have dual zone climate control and have just noticed that when I have the heat on, it will mostly only blow cool air. Sometimes, I will get warm air from the left side for a few minutes, then it will go back to blowing cool air. I had the dealer look at it and they said it was the "oil cooler", what has this to do with the climate control problem?? Any other possible causes or solutions?

I need you to check something. With the engine hot, running, and the heat on high, feel both heater hoses to see if they are hot.

Let me know what you find.

Your water pump slows down at lower rpms, so coolant flow through the heater core slows down. You can flush the heater core and see if it helps? An hvac trouble codes? Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free. Those are B type codes.

Hi there, so I got my car this summer. As we all do when purchasing a new/used vehicle we check to see if all operations are operating properly. When I gave the A/C a try it worked perfect I used it probably about 2-3 more times after. After I noticed my car kept blowing out hot air. I figured I would put Freon in the car thinking that may be the issue but no hope, also changed out the fuses and nothing. So today we ended up having colder weather, in which I wanted to use my heater. I went to turn it on after noticing my car was warm enough for that so low and behold, I got cold air coming out. I haven't taken it to a professional yet because we all they they charge just to look at it. So i'm trying to get any advice first on what it can be so I have some knowledge of what i'm talking about before I take it in. I feel I got taken advantage of last time I took my car in. So all the help would b greatly appreciated. So thank you in advance...

Hi,

When you turned the A/C on, was the compressor engaging? If it was, have you checked the blend air door's operation?

Let me know. Also, let me know if this has a manual temperature control or automatic. I attached a pic below of a manual type system and circled the actuators I'm referring to. Note that these actuators are responsible for you getting either heat or A/C into the vehicle.

Let me know.

I check the both the upper and lower radiator hoses and they were hot and tight.I check both of the heater hoses and found them to be tight and hot.I did a visual into coolant to find with enough antifreeze. The engine to be coming up to operate temperature. The temperature gauge is reading in the operating range. The vehicle doesn't seem to be running hot..

If both heater core hoses are hot, then there must be coolant flowing through the heater core. So, that tells me that the blend air door isn't working. Check that.

The a/c does not blow air at all. The blow motor and resistor are good. The control panel turns on and the compressor works, too. What can I do?

Check the fuse and relay. Make sure the blower speed control switch is receiving power. Make sure the blower is properly grounded.

The actuator for the heat is probably bad and needs replacement. It is located near the firewall on the heater hose.

Actually its a Chrysler voyager, sorry for the misunderstanding. How do I access the actuator and approximately how much does one cost, and where can I purchase one?

The actuators are for the doors on the left side of the HVAC assembly. This would be in the center under neath the dashwhere the heater core box is located. You may have to pull some ductwork to see the doors and actuators.
To get parts you might try www.rockauto.com. They are a great OEM quality or better closeout site. They move merchanidise so fast you might have to check it daily for a while for a really good deal. Parts are from reputable manufacturuers and I have amde amny purchases there. I got a $250 wiper motor for $40 shipped. You cannot beat this place.
