I own a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander. It has been modified to accommodate my wheel chair. These changes have added weight to the van. It is showing signs of a need for brake repairs. The factory brakes are marginal with there ability to stop in a crisis situation. It only makes sense that now is the time to upgrade the entire system. I have tried to get the part numbers for the G.M. Heavy duty or high performance line of brakes. It is a real task to get part numbers, compatibility data and info on how to install it so that all of the necessary connections are properly installed.
My question(s) to you is (1. Which option is the better choice?
(2. If I go aftermarket will all of the fittings connect to the ABS ?
(3.If I stay with G.M. Where can I find all of the part numbers needed.

I anxiously await your reply.

Sincerely, K Elliott

with 49k miles and now just needing a brake job stick with factory compatible parts. IF a different system is available it would run you close to a thousand dollars just for parts. Just use ceramic pads and make sure rotors are good. Brakes are a wear item and with your mileage you are doing very well . You can try gmparts direct.com to see if there are any performance parts there but hey it's an uplander and not something that normally is upgraded.
