origianaly had two codes one for glow plug one and this guy.
this is a 2500 HD with a duramax diesle engine. checked for and found 12 volts at the air intake heater, replaced it with a new one erased the code and it just came back with only two key cycles and ten min run time. the glow plug control modual has been changed out as well with a new part. is there a relay that controls this unit? i know the older ones had a set of relays working in paralel but i have found no fuse or relay for this newer model truck. do you have a trouble flow chart for this diagnostic?

Hello,

The P0540 OBD-II Trouble Code: Intake Air Heater "A" Circuit here is the wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. There is a mega fuse on the right side of the fire wall 175 amp that heat up and melt the connections I would check there.

This guide can help
