Fuel pump not coming on. It is not the relay or fuse. Key is "on". No sound indicating fuel pump pressuring up. car will crank, but will not start. Been having problems lately with car engine quiting while driving, but restarting OK

Use a gauge and check fuel pressure, engine cranking. Check for voltage and ground at fuel pump connector, engine cranking. Gray wire is voltage, black is ground. Take connector loose, use test lite between gray wire terminal and black wire terminal, engine cranking, anything, does the lite come on? If good voltage and ground for pump motor and no pump action, suspect the pump.

My hearing is no good, can't hear initial prime anyway. Engine cranking, I certainly can't hear the pump. I have to use a gauge.

Check the guides below on testing wiring and relays

Where is that connector? I have a test light and a meter. Can I access this from the trunk under the carpet or is it inderneath by the tank? Thanks, Pat I heard the fuel pump recently, but not today. I changed relays and fuses from an identical Monte Carlo SS;no luck. It is a 2007 Monte Carlo SS

I'd get at the tank underneath, to find wiring connector. If you have to raise and support the vehicle, make sure to be safe. Safety is your responsibility. Don't support the vehicle with a darn jack, that stuff will get you killed.

I have a 2007 Monte Carlo SS also. The fuel pump is not coming on. The fuse is good and so is the relay. Is there a ground for the fuel pump at the negative battery cable?

If you make a new post, it will be less confusing. I don't know your engine size or vin?
