how can i be positive its the lifters ticking?

This is the same impala as before, my quetion is, how can I be positive I need new lifters? I called a couple Chevy dealers and no one has heard of replacing lifters while doing the intake.
I just am afraid to spend 300 on new lifters if I may not need them

I think you're the same guy that I already advised that it's not likely anything to do with lifters. It just doesn't happen that way.

Yea, and the other guy answered one of my questions and he said lifters sticking after replacing the intake manifold gasket is common on this engine. I don't think its the lifters either but no one can give me some decent advice as to what I should do next since all I have to go off of is a fluctuating vacuum valve train noise and a hesitation/lack off power everything else checked out good.
