Roof Antenna Cadillac Escalade 2007

Hi, I have a 2007 Cadillac Escalade and the top antenna in front of the sun-roof has broken. We have currently wrapped it with black tape to prevent any snow on it. What is this antenna for and is there a way to replace the plastic cover on it?

I believe the antenna is at least for XM radio, and may serve dual purpose with Onstar inclusive. I don't believe you are going to find just a replaceable cover, more than likely it is a complete antenna, andsome lowering of the left front of the headlining is probably necessary.
