I'm going to have to guess you have power seats. If it moves one way, the motor and wiring are okay. That leaves the switch as the likely suspect. To verify that, there's a good chance the electrical connectors to all of the motors are the same, and you can switch two of them under the seat. That will allow you to run the front / rear function with a different switch.
