I have stripped the engine of my car to replace worn out piston rings. I have a problem with the middle ring, because from a set I have purchased the middle ring does not fit in. It seems to be bigger than the groove. What might be the case?

1. Can the groove be reconditioned to fit in the ring?

2. If I can provide you with the chassis number of the vehicle, can you ship the right rings in case the ones I can access here (in Botswana) are not genuine ones.

Thank you,

Thank you,

I would contact a ring manufacturer if you can't find them make sure to measure the size of the ring groove as well. we dont' list that engine here in US so we dont' have a spec on the size. spec I'm sending is for a 2.4L but it's may be different . if ring groove is different in different areas size wise it may be a piston problem. like detonation . especially if piston skirts are scuffed, scraped and blackened.
