What should be the value of the battery charging voltage supplied by the alternator?

Hello,
Can this value change with the engine's temperature? I have just replaced my car's battery. I measured the voltage on the battery connectors with the engine on at idle and I get 13.6 when the engine is cold and by the time the engine's temperature reaches 90 degrees, the voltage has risen to 14.4 V. Is this normal? Shouldn't the alternator deliver the same voltage regardless of the engines temperature?

Thx,
Dan Corneanu.

This is about right. The voltage difference is no big deal. The alternator is working how it should.
