ignition wont turn off unless battery is disconected then it works properly

Which engine do you have?
After reconnecting battery, are you able to turn engine off when you restart?
Does this occur after every startup?
Are the dash indicator lights showing when engine doe snot turn off after turning ignition off?
Are the accessories such as A/C and radio working then?
