low idle

my 2006 toyota camry altise has low idle problems...dealership says this is wear and tear and is not covered under warranty...still have 18 months on warranty left!!is this correct or are they just out for my money?the part they told me needs to be replaced is the idle control valve...pls help

Such problems are not covered by warranty but the IAC should be if vehicle is under warranty.

Most such problems are due to dirt clogging the IAC passages and cleaning the passages shoudl solve the problem.

The simple way of doing it is to spray carb cleaner into the ports of the throttle body and allowing to soak for a few minutes. Clean the inner part of the throttle body where the trottle plate closes and you are ready to go.
