Message "Starter Not Engaged" appeared as it click-click-click when i tried to start it but, I was able to give it a jump. Battery tested at 368 cold crank amps and then at 400 after driving 20 minutes but is 6 years old. Has started fine since. I know GMs require a lot of juice to start. Will a new battery solve this or is the starter going bad?

Replace the battery first. It is due for a replacement. The starter should still be good as you are able to jump start it.
