Knocking noise from front of Renault Modus 1.5dci

The car has had a new Balljoint about 2 months ago - also had a suspension spring fitted about 3 months ago - there is no play in the wheel or suspension. The noise is intermitant and rarely occurs when I am in the car myself - only when there is a passenger and not always when i go over rough roads
