shifting problem

when motor is cold it will only drive in first gear and after that wont drive at all when trying to go into second gear i have a multi transaxle transmission it makes a buzzing noise when it will go into gear almost sounds like a belt is making was told it might be control box which means it would be electrical

If the TCM is the problem, the check engine light should have come on. If that is the case, have the computer scanned to identify trouble codes. Make sure you use a scanner designed for reading trans codes.
