convertible top error message

I am receiving this error message: "Top not secure" when closing my hardtop. This also does not allow me to open the trunk. The top appears to be fully closed.

Any hints on how to open the trunk or what may be causing this error message? I read elsewhere to check the striker arm, which I need access to the trunk to be able to check.

One of two things is going on either the internal switch in one of the latches is not working or the convertible top control module is going out. Here is a guide and some convertible top wiring diagrams (below) that will help us see what's going on.
