can engine mount "test" stress hurt good mounts?

When I check my engine mounts by ..foot on brake...put in D...a small accelaration.... I understand what I am looking for BUT is the test stressing what may be good mounts enough to create a problem with the mounts. I have no idea and thats why I am asking before I do it. Can it hurt or shorten the life on my mounts by testing this way. Thank you very much. I really appreciate your site...I have learned a lot.
