I have the HDI model. recently I bought this car, was impressed with the low mileage and it ran smoothly on the test drive, it also has a full service history and is generally immaculate. MOT was April 2016.
All had been fine until I got onto a motorway, at 70 mph in fifth gear. I was maintaining this speed with just my foot pressed lightly on the accelerator.
However, I noticed the occasional "jerk" or "tug", almost as if the car was not putting quite enough fuel into the engine. This disappeared as soon as I put my foot down a little and everything was normal. But it would reproduce itself when coasting at around 70 mph in fifth gear. Revs over 1500.
I have noticed this at slower speeds in fourth, but far less.
Apart from this the car drives beautifully.
I popped into the local garage and he said it could be faulty fuel injectors (he said up to £1000 to fix!) or a sensor (A few hundred pounds to fix).
Am I being taken for a ride or does this sound genuine? Is there anything else that this could be?
