I'm trying to get a hold of a clock spring - the horn isn't working and the mechanic said that's the issue. I want to buy one online as they are considerably cheaper and hard to get a hold of where I live, but my mechanic said even in the Lancer 2006 model there are two steering wheels, the larger and the smaller - I need the clock spring for the smaller. (The body says "sport" on it.) Is this true?
Is there a way to find out the part number so I can make sure I'm getting the right clock spring? Is it a 50/50 gamble to buy the first one I see, or is it more likely I'll get the wrong one?
Thanks,
Shmuel

I don't believe there is a difference between the two. Tell me, is the air bag light on too?

The light works regular. The mechanic showed me how he can get the horns to work from the fuse box under the hood, and that the current isn't flowing between the steering wheel and the fuse box.

I have to be honest, the air bag is usually affected when there is a bad clock spring.

Ok, well that's what he diagnosed, and I got a part id from someone else from my frame number.
I'd like my many back please.
Thanks!
