2006 Kia Optima it sputters

when i you the air conditioner it sounds like it want to stall but it does not die out once i cut off the a/c
it runs fine

Check for vacuum leaks on the engine and the idle air control valve (IAC). The IAC is responsible for maintaining the engine idle speed. When you turn the AC on, there is an added load on the engine which requires the IAC to increase the idle speed. If it doesn't, the added load will bog the engine down.
