2006 Jeep Wrangler stalls at 2100 rpm

This will probably stump you all as it has everyone else but here goes. The car throws dtc po344 and po118. Have replaced all sensors including cam and crank sensors. We can clear the codes and drive it for two miles and it throws the codes again and won't run above 2100 rpms. Erase the dtc's and it runs fine until it repeats the same problem. I'd be happy if it would just run above 2100 rpm and has the check engine light on. If you can help it would be very much appreciated but if not, well, it has stumped several mechanics and has had the parts store thrown at it.

I am assuming tone wheel and sensor were aligned properly prior to removal/install and that proper air gap between sensor and wheel is ok if not it will set a code. gap must be .030" seepic also I am also assuming connector an dharness are ok and wiggle test has been done. the ect sensor should have connections and harness checked as well and this could be a pcm problem.

yes all of this has been done, .30 , wiggle test. Can pcm be reflashed or is there a way to jumper the rpm stall thing?

yes pcm can be reflashed bu tis something is screwed up inside it won't do much good.

Is there a way to keep the pcm from stalling at 2100 rpm and running with the check engine light on?

I think the problem you are having with the code is making it stall at 2100 rpm.Unles the code can be rectified or fixed then it's something that is going to happen.

Where can we find a wiring harness for this engine? Dealer wants $800 for a factory harness.

try a junkyard would be the best bet or Jeep aftermarket suppliers. You might try American autowire online.

one other thing you can check wiring by resitance to see if that is the problem bu tthis cold be a pcm problem as well.

I removed the engine wiring harness and checked it and found several problems with the wiring that runs under the intake manifold. Also found problems with the two main sockets that are located at the rear of the intake on the drivers side. Repaired the sockets and used dielectric grease on all sockets. This saved the harness and all is well now. No codes and runs perfect. Hi dollar parts will make one go back to square one and rethink the problem. Thanks for the help and come back.

no problem see you had the time to spend to fix the problem which most mechanics at repair shops don't have.

I think you guys know your stuff and I will be using you in the future. Was using Identi Fix but they are very much overrated. Thanks for all the help.
