engine oil consumption

My car was consuming engine oil.a few days ago,it was overheated on highway.from that day,it has stopped consuming engine oil.do you think it is possible? what would have happened in this case?

It all depends on how hot it got. Have you changed the oil sense the overheat? What was the temp that it got to?

It could have freed up a stuck piston right or something like that.
