Right or left makes no difference, you need to remove the front wheelhouse liner, or at least partially to get your hand in there. The socket just twists and comes out of the lamp housing. The wheelhouse liner is held in place by push-pin type retainers. There are several of them, most are easily accessible. You may find it improves access by lifting the front, or removing the applicable wheel and tire.
