Ridgeline came with towing package, do we need electric braking system when we tow camper

2006 ridgeline, we tow a camper 3,000 - 4,000lbs. Installed electric braking system for camper on ridgeline. All kind of lights are on ABS VH or something. HELP

who installed it?? it should not effect the abs system.

i towed a 17 ft popup which was 3500 and never used electric brakes.

Roy, Husband installed, weight on trailer is 4700, codes U0122 & B1170 for f-can malfunction ECM-PCM-VSA control module unit failure.

if you think it had something to do with the electric brakes, tell him to disconnect them and see if the problems go away.

4700 is a lot more than the 3 to 4 thousand you stated. yes, either electric or surge brakes would be in order.
