Hello, I have a 2006 Honda Accord Coupe with approx 47k miles. A local mechanic told me my torque converter needed to be replaced. Car shudders with light to moderate acceleration at rpm's below 2k. So I go to Priority Honda in Chesapeake,VA because I have until next month for the power-train warranty only to have them to tell me I need to have all the fluids changed and serviced and that Honda won't authorize the repair. This is going to cost $220 when the maintenance minder doesn't indicate the fluid needs changing and the manual says it needs to be changed at 60k miles IF you drive in mountainous areas or pull heavy loads which I do neither. I have been trying to get this repair done since 43k miles and am beyond frustrated! Is this just another case of someone not wanting to pay for a needed repair?? Correct me if I am wrong but I shouldn't have to be dealing with this kind of repair at point with the mileage at 47k should I? Is it possible that changing the fluids will make a difference? Thanks for any help you can give.
