2006 Dodge Stratus 4 cyl engine leaks oil

06 dodge stratus 2.4L L4cyl, is pissing oil, the oil is dripping noticeably from against the oil pan where the filter attaches to the lower part of the case/block, I have replaced oil pan gasket with rtv sealant, changed the filter, installed new plug, replaced front and rear seals on the crankshaft (or in this case the engine sits sideways in the compartment the seals would be left an right). I have a tiny amount of oil seeping into the coolant reservoir. I suspect "MAYBE" a blown head gasket. But why is oil only noticeably pissing oil so far down under the engine and there is no sign of such and oil seepage from around the head? Any questions or ideas?

it sounds more like a blown upper intake gasket to me as far as the oil in the coolant. that may even explain the oil leak. does it run ok?

The car runs great except for a slight clicking/knocking noise. Other than that it purrs! Surprisingly since the oil was bone dry when i got it! Oil getting into the coolant reservoir takes a while though, and the oil seepage happens sooner than that occurance but still takes a couple of minutes for it to start dripping a thin stream onto the ground. I ran the engine for about an hour before I started seeing oil in the coolant reservoir. I also had found a 3/4 inch wide half moon shaped piece of slightly warped metal in the pan. From the pictures in my book it looks like it could be thrust bearing. When I had everything torn apart underneath the engine the arms seemed tight on the shaft with the shaft having less than a 1/16 of play left or right. I'm wondering these possibilities: water pump, head gasket, crack in the block or head. I'm ruling out the oil pump because I cleaned it up and resealed it with rtv. It also didnt have any oil coming out of it or passing over it either. However, I think I could take a look at the intake as you suggested. Just didnt want to have to go through an overhaul if I didnt have to but if I do then I will lol.

id also check camshaft end play. if that bearing came from a crank or cam end then it could be moving back letting oil out through its shaft seal. a cracked block is also a very good possibilty

Certainly if the cam moves away from the seal. You can check for cam and crank end play by pulling and pushing on the pulleys. They may be hard to move but if they do it's too much. Also with a leak this big it should be fairly easy to spot if you clean off the motor really good with some strong degreaser and rinse it and let it dry first

I had previously wiped out the insides of the camshaft sprockets and timing covers covering the sprockets...after removal a second time I found everything in there dirty with oil...it would seem like a sign that the cam seals may be gone...there is no end play...agree or disagree? comments? Thank you.
