I get a P0405 error code, I replaced the EGR vavle and it's still there, what else can cause it?

I took my van in for an ispection and it the shop said there were 3 fault codes. They all said the EGR valve was bad. The shop wanted almost $300 to fix it, I am a mechanic in the Army so I was not going to pay them for labor I could do on my own. So I bought the EGR valve and replaced it. And now the only fault that comes up is the P0405 fault, that say there is a low sensor, what can that be?

The code indicates there's an electrical problem with the sensor that monitors the EGR valve operation. Moisture gets inside and causes damage. For the last one I replaced, we could not buy the sensor separately. It came with the new EGR valve. That was on a '90 model. You may be able to buy yours without the valve but electrical tests should be done first to rule out wiring problems.
