I purchased this vehicle at the end of July and it is like it was held together with spit and glue. This thing is falling apart! But first thing is first. I am replacing my ignition cylinder and tumblers. I bought an ignition cylinder/tumbler kit from the dealership. I know how to get my old cylinder out. What i am not sure of is how i know where to put the new tumblers in the new cylinder for my old key? Do i just take the old one apart and check the numbers on that or is there an easier way? Please help! My car is all sorts of taken apart in my driveway right now and i have to work tomorrow! Ugh!

If you got the key from the dealer did they program it? If not they will need to or the car wont start. Please give them the VIN. Here are some guides to help you get the job done (below). You must remove the plastic cover over the steering column first. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Disable the SIR system. Remove the steering column trim covers. Insert key into the ignition and rotate to the RUN position. Then rotate ignition cylinder back to ACC position. Depress the locking button through hole on side of ignition module assembly with a thin pick-type tool. Slide the lock cylinder from the ignition housing. Installation Procedure Important: Actuator blade within the ignition module must be in ACC position to install the lock cylinder assembly. If rotated, reposition the actuator blade to the ACC position using needle nose pliers. Important: If you are installing a new lock cylinder, Insert key into ignition lock cylinder and install the cylinder into the lock housing. Rotate the lock cylinder in the housing. Verify proper rotation. Install the steering column trim covers. Enable the SIR system. Connect the negative battery cable.
