van will not crank over

I installed a new battery and now the van will not start. interior lights come on, the radio works,the fuel gauge does not work and the headlights and horn do not work. When I try to start it nothing happens, it does not even make a clicking sound. To remove the old battery I had to move a bar out of the way and I had to move the fuse box out of the way which is above the battery, so that I could remove the battery. In order to move the fuse box out of the way I had to take the cover off and then remove the top section that the fuses are plugged into, so that I could remove the nuts from the mounting studs to move the fuse box out of the way
