I was driving my 06 Trailblazer, going down hill I let off on the gas, when I started to go back up I pressed the gas pedal and nothing. No Acceleration or increase RPM's, I pulled over and put it in park and than back into drive and it took off fine. I did run it out of gas yesterday and I was low on fuel today when this happened. What could cause this?

If you were really low on fuel, there may not have been enough for the fuel pump to pick up when you going down the hill. Please keep in mind, when you run the tank dry, the pump has nothing to circulate and can pick up dirt. So there is a chance it is damaged. What I suggest it simple. Put a lot of gas into the tank and see if it happens again. If it does, then we need to check fuel pump pressure as well as the fuel filter. Try that and let me know what happens. I'll be looking for your response.

I filled it up and drove around for half an hour with no issues. Thanks for your reply. I will keep an eye on it and my gas gauge, haha

Great, that may have been the entire problem. I have an Expedition. If it is facing down hill and low on fuel, it will die until i put it on the level. If it is pointing up hill, it doesn't happen.

Good luck and let me know if you have questions. Also, if you notice any hesitations, replace the fuel pump. You may have sucked up dirt and it may have plugged the filter. HOWEVER, if it is running good, like my old shop teacher said, "Don't fix it if it isn't broken."

Take care,
Joe
