Do you know anything about the Ultima brand starter, I need to replace mines because it went out but don't know anything about this starter.

That starter is Ok (make sure you get the lifetime warranty--8 yrs from now if you need a new one its free).

also the other autoparts stores sell good starters. i've bought they from many stores over the years and haven't gotten a truly bad one yet.

the starter is dead and ordered a new one just need a chart to explan the details please and thank you

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Disconnect the battery negative cable.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

Remove the left tire.



Working in the left fender area, remove the battery positive lead from the solenoid (1).



Remove the starter mount bolt and nut (1, 2).
Remove the starter motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Install the starter motor.
Install the starter motor mount bolt and nut.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the starter mount bolt and nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft ).



Connect the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid and secure the cable with a nut (1).

Tighten
Tighten the positive cable nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in ).

Install the left tire.
Connect the battery negative cable.

Hi,I am having a problem starting my truck.I will turn the key and it is dead but will start after a couple of tries.I have had this problem befor and changed the starter and battery.The altonator is charging fine and I have checked battery posts and starter cablles for losseness and corotion.This happened 5 months ago,I used some wd40 on the battery posts and the starter it seemed to work but problem is back.any advice?

Recheck the battery connections and also at the starter batt. terminal, also might want to have the ignition switch tested-
