Hello,

This sounds like you have a crankshaft angle sensor that is going out. Here is a guide that will show you what you are in for when changing the sesnor out.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/crankshaft-angle-sensor-replacement

Check out the diagrams for the cranks sensor location for both engines. (Below)

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Cheers, Ken

Hi and thanks for using 2carpros.com

Have you checked for diagnostic trouble codes? What you described can be the result of several things. Components such as the fuel pump, crankshaft position sensor, problems with an engine vacuum leak, plugged catalytic converter and the list goes on, can all cause what you described.

I first suggest checking for trouble codes. Here is a quick video that shows how it's done.
https://youtu.be/YV3TRZwer8k

Next, here are links discussing how to check fuel pressure, symptoms of a bad crankshaft sensor, how to find a vacuum leak, and how to test a catalytic converter. If, however, you find there are specific trouble codes stored when you scan the computer, let me know what you find. It will save a lot of time.

It will not pull a code. It is like the computer has been reset. I just replaced my camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor and map sensor, got a new a fuel pump as well as fixed the vacuum leak. It still cranks if i remove the fuel pump relay it starts for a few then shuts off.

Welcome back:
First, is the security light flashing or staying on? When you have the key on and the door closed, it should turn off.

Next, inspect the air inlet for blockage. Also, check the throttle plate for excessive carbon. I have seen them stick.

Also, if you hold the throttle open when starting, does it keep running?

Yes, if I hold the pedal down it has almost a normal idle and if I let off the gas it bounces then shuts off.

Welcome back,

If you are able to keep it running with your foot on the throttle and rev the engine normally or there is no response to throttle position, it could be a problem with the throttle actuator control system (TAC). This component replaced the need for a throttle cable. It is run by the power control module (PCM). Let me know if you have any response to throttle position.

My uncle says it is the gas regulator, but i would like to know if there is any way to test that before i buy the part. I have quite a bit of money into the truck and would like to see it run again.

Hi most likely idle air control sol is bad checking the codes will confirm .
another possibility is a prob with your a/c system.
you really need to have the codes scanned first

Can't turn on AC if rpms are below 1k without stalling the engine. Once above 1k rpm I can turn on the AC and it runs fine. The compressor doesn't cycle repeatedly and it produces cold air. Once I get below 1k rpm or I idle, the compressor keeps kicking in about every 5 seconds and eventually kills the engine.

try this info,Engine may stall with the air-conditioner on and or while adding additional loads to the engine at idle. An example of an addition load would be turning the steering wheel left or right with the air-conditioning on. This type of stall usually occurs during idle or slow parking lot maneuvers. This concern may not set any diagnostic trouble codes.Clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel.

I've been fighting the same problem for the last year plus. In time you will likely get a trouble code setting off the check engine/service engine soon light. The trouble code will be for the cam shaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. I was Unfortunate enough to bring it to the wrong dealer for the first 3 tries to fix the problem and got ripped off. With research on line and talking with several mechanics I was told and found out one sensor will set off the other and both will need to be replaced. They are not too expensive, 80 U.S. dollars for the two parts. After the sensors are changed the PCM will need to "relearn" the timing of the engine. This almost has to be done at a GM dealer, and cost about 80 U.S. dollars. Total time to replace both sensors should be 1/2 hour. The cam shaft sensor is very easy to change, the crank shaft sensor is a bear to get at. I choose to change the cam sensor myself, but couldn't reach the crank sensor. Change both sensors and have GOOD DEALER relearn the computer system. Mine seems to be working for now, best of luck.

Electrical problem
2006 Chevy Trailblazer Four Wheel Drive Automatic 120700 miles

While driving down the high my engine has shut off twice. when this happens all the warning lights on the dashboard come on. When I turn the key the engine will not crank. I let the car sit for a couple of minutes turn the key and it starts. I have taken it to a pep boys and a gm service center and they have told me several different things but it does not seem to correct the issue. What do you think it is?

I had the wires to the alternator cleaned and reattached because they were corroded. I was told to drive so that the computer could reset even though I have driven it for over a week when I turn the heat on the engine stalls and will cut off. I recently had the temperature control panel replaced but I did not have this problem until I had the wires cleaned. Any suggestions? I have read that removing the negative cable from the battery will reset the computer so it will know to maintain the idle when extra power is used.
Any information you can give is appreciated. Thanks

might try this,Subject: Engine Stalls When Air Conditioning Is Turned On at Idle

Models: 2004-2007 Buick Rainier

2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trailblazer EXT

2002-2007 GMC Envoy, Envoy XL and Envoy XUV

2002-2004 Oldsmobile Bravada

2005-2007 Saab 97x Engine may stall with the air-conditioner on and or while adding additional loads to the engine at idle. An example of an addition load would be turning the steering wheel left or right with the air-conditioning on. This type of stall usually occurs during idle or slow parking lot maneuvers. This concern may not set any diagnostic trouble codes.
Clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with GM top engine cleaner, GM P/N 1052626 (Canadian P/N 993026) or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner, P/N X66-P, or an equivalent product. post back if this fix,s the problem.
