2006 Chevrolet Optra radiator fan...

I'm not a hundred percent sure what you are asking. The fan that is attached to the radiator just cools the coolant. You have a blower motor that supplies the air to the inside of your car. The fan will turn on and off due to the temperature of the engine and by the pcm. Is the A/C working all the time?

Dis regard the cabin blower sir.the radiator fan of my chevrolet optra 2006 model 1.6 is inter connected with the aircon sir.ones you turn on the aircondition the radiator fan will automatically turn on.when u turn off the airconditio the radiator fan will automatically turn of.but even the aircon is off the radiator fan will automatically turn on when the thermostat sense that the engine is hot.due to the radiator fan has 2 settings hi/lo...ones the aircon is off the radiator fan will turn on on low settings.but if you turn on the aircon it will bypass the low settings of the radiator fan.the radiator fan will turn on hi settings.what i am trying to ask is sometimes even you turn on the aircondition the radiator fan is not working...but sometimes it will work.i tried to swap the fan relay but the relay is working good.is it posible sir that the relay is intermittent?thanks for your time sir...

When you turn on the aircon and the radiator fan is working the aircondition inside the cabin is good but if the radiator fan is not working no aircon at all.only air coming from cabin blower....

Some of these vehicles have this feature and some do not. The ones that do, the fan is operational any time the A/C control is in the MAX, NORMAL, or Bi_Level modes. Some models provide for engine cooling fan operation when the controller is in the Defrost mode. This added feature is part of the A/C controller function and is aimed at preventing excessive compressor head temperatures. It also allows the A/C system to function more efficiently. Normally after 35 mph when the airflow through the condenser coil is adequate fro efficient cooling. The operation of the fan is controlled by the powertrain control module (PCM), or the engine control module (ECM), through the cooling fan relay. I would check for any wires that may be shorting out through the wiring harness leading to the fan relay. This may also just be a normal operation due to the differences of the same car in which the fan is controlled by the A/C.
