how do you know if your struts on your front end are bad

Struts go through a gradual deterioration from the time they are installed. It is a judgment call on when they are not controlling the suspension sufficiently or causing too much tire wear. If they show any signs of leakage or do not stop a bounce within one bounce, then they are in total failure at that time.
