My oil pressure light has come on. The light came on about 4000 miles ago and we found that the oil pump and screen were "gunked up". The dealer suggested we change the sending switch as well and we did. I am confused as to why this situation has occurred because I change my oil every 3000 to 5000 miles.
Well we made the repair and everything was fine. Today I was running errands and when I came out of a store to start my car there was my oil pressure light on again. The engine sounded normal and wasn't making any rapping or clacking noise. I checked the oil level and found it to be fine, so I drove it home and parked it. No problems occurred on the ride home except that oil pressure light staying on. I let the car sit for several hours and then started again. The oil; pressure light is still on. The engine still sounds just fine. What could be causing this reoccurring problem? Has this been a problem for other Aveo's?
