2006 Cadillac CTS Windshield wiper fluid

I just bought this car and every time I turn on the windshield wipers it shoots out windshield wiper fluid.
Is it ok to run without fluid in it or will it burn out the motor that pumps the fluid.
Also it looks like the windshield wipers and guild are on the same fuse. Doe anyone know if I can just pull the fuse so the wipers work but the fluid does not.
